The current mood of many people reminds me of the fall of 2001, and the principal author of the Patriot Act is about to be president.

@billblake2018 But according to Biden's own statement, it was basically the same bill.
@gmcgath Well, we know how much we can trust that. :) But from all accounts the bill that passed was inspired by his proposed bill, so he can take the credit if he wants. Though why anyone would be so stupid....!
@gmcgath Um...didn't he author a predecessor that wasn't enacted into law, but which served as the inspiration for the Patriot act? It's not much of a difference, but facts is facts--assuming I heard it correctly.
