If the government sends you $1,000 in virus money, will you refuse it as a government handout, or will you consider it getting your own money back?

People think they are clever noting that Ayn Rand collected social security.

Yeah. Why wouldn't she? The government took her money then gave it back to her.

It's a bad idea, and a slippery slope, but I'm on the hook for it anyway

@AtlasFreeman I haven't started collecting Social Security, but I'm on Medicare. Supposedly I already paid for it, but I'm still paying 3 different premiums to get decent coverage. Anyone who thinks I'm sponging off the government is bad at math.

If you are in a business, profession, or job that was ordered shut down by the government, you can think of it as the compensation for having the value of your property taken for public use.

Liberdon is a Mastodon instance for libertarians, ancaps, anarchists, voluntaryists, agorists, etc to sound off without fear of reprisal from jack or zuck. It was created in the wake of the Great Twitter Cullings of 2018, when a number of prominent libertarian accounts were suspended or banned.
