“[Not levying tariffs from socialist countries] is a tacit admission that, except when national security concerns apply, or when we want to help influence some form of political change in the name of liberty, #socialism is an economic good for capitalism.” https://practicaldistributism.blogspot.com/2019/08/what-they-all-get-wrong-about-tariffs.html
“Political action organizes the human ‘will’ for projects of ‘goodness.’ What constitutes the ‘good’ varies with each ideology. Both sides fail to see that they are arguing in a mirror where all images are reversed. Both believe in power.”
I certainly have affinity with libertarian goals at the federal level (#EndTheFed, #StopWars, etc), but at heart I’m a #paleocon localist and traditionalist, as I do believe that a measure of natural authority rests at different scales above the individual precisely because of our interpersonal nature with obligation to seek the common good (i.e. #subsidiarity). I have many reservations about the modern nation state and so might otherwise be described as a Tolkien Anarchist.
Liberdon is a Mastodon instance for libertarians, ancaps, anarchists, voluntaryists, agorists, etc to sound off without fear of reprisal from jack or zuck. It was created in the wake of the Great Twitter Cullings of 2018, when a number of prominent libertarian accounts were suspended or banned.
