This. This is where the rubber meets the road.
You can't applaud this and think other censorship is wrong. You can't say "this should be censored, but that shouldn't be."
If they have the will and the power to do it here, what's to stop them from doing it in other places?
This is what's going on all over the media. They "warm" you up to an idea by doing it in something that's 100% acceptable, and then after its normalized, they push the limits until it's too late.
This goes for driving a car, opening a business, hell... even digging in my yard or renovating my own house.
The government has taken more rights away from us than we realize.
The current pandemic isn't anything new. Yes, it's an overreach. Yes, it's oppression. Yes, there's precedent for them to do it to us.
...and that's the hard truth to stomach. They'll continue to take away our freedoms because they have, they can, and they will lean on precedent.
Not sure why it's hard for people to understand this...
When you have to get permission from the government to "exercise your right" ... you don't have freedom.
I don't have freedom to carry a concealed weapon unless the government says I can.
If you have to rely on the government to "allow" you to do something, then they can "disallow" you as well.
It's no longer freedom, but the illusion of freedom.

Liberdon is a Mastodon instance for libertarians, ancaps, anarchists, voluntaryists, agorists, etc to sound off without fear of reprisal from jack or zuck. It was created in the wake of the Great Twitter Cullings of 2018, when a number of prominent libertarian accounts were suspended or banned.
