If you walk into a bank with security cameras and guards you have security but no privacy.

It's possible to have one without the other.

The only way to combat global mass surveillance is to take responsibility for your own privacy and security.
If you trust your security to others, you will have no privacy. And if you don't protect your privacy, you are at the mercy of those who wish to spy on and control you.
